Last night I watched Liam Neeson kill a metric boatload of people. It was awesome.
And then we drove around in this mini-blizzard for a while, which was also quite entertaining :) |

Yesterday's schedule: Work 11:30am - 8pm, go pick up Brian (in Centerville >_>), drive all the way back here to watch Hot Fuzz at Kingstowne, drive him back to his house, get back to my house at 1:45am. Read until 2:30am. Wake up at 8am. Alright, I lied. Part of that list took place today.
HOT FUZZ KICKED ASS. Totally worth being kinda tired this morning. Athena-from-work said that she thought that the first part was kinda boring, but I thought that it was a lot better than the pre-Zombie part of Shaun of the Dead... although that might just be thinking of re-watching it as opposed to it's original awesomeness.
Well, time to get ready for another 8.5 hour shift. ;_;
p.s. I burned myself on the panini grill yesterday, and now I have an awesome blister-thing on my thumb! Score! |

Saw Howl's Moving Castle today! Good movie. Also got to play some Guitar Hero (II, I think?), which was fun in a "wow, i am not as coordinated as I thought" sort of way :)
Next time I'm in the mood to spend some money I think I'll pick it up, along with FFXII. Well, non-food related money. For instance, $60 lunches which are, in fact, worth every penny. Mmm, tasty.
Yeah. I'm done here. |

Well, two nights in a row I've started coughing incessantly the instant I started thinking about sleeping and ended up taking a couple hours to actually fall asleep. This is followed by waking up with a huge headache and having to spend a while horking up chunks of phlegm from my lungs. Joy. |

Saw Superman Returns: Goooooooood. I liked it. :D
It made me feel all WAFFy (Warm And Fuzzy Feeling), like being wrapped up in my favorite blanket. That blanket has frogs on it. I leave it to you, the reader, to draw a conclusion from that...
Ok, yeah, mostly joking :) Still a movie I liked, and still pretty damn WAFFy. Not that there's anything wrong with that!
It's kinda weird how the whole 'Lex Luther trying to take over/destroy the world' plot was secondary. I think I enjoyed it better that way, since I must (I suppose) admit that I like emotional subplot stuff, as long as it isn't the typical "Yay! We're in a crazy!ObsessiveCoDependant Relationship; Yay, wait,Angst! No, nevermind. Yay!" plot that's been done to death. This wasn't. THANK YOU.
I also don't really recall any of the music... I remember that there was music, but just the fact that it always seemed (to me) to help along the emotional thrust of the scene, so to speak. Also, I think it was all instrumental. I Approve :)
I'll trawl my list of friends to see if anyone wants to see it, because I, for one, would like to see it again. :D |

Cargo sweats. WFT!? Is it just me that writes off anyone in cargo sweats as almost certainly a waste of human flesh? I think that the designer of this abomination needs to rethink this a bit. Sweats are a functional piece of clothing (though it's a pretty stupid one: lose weight by dehydrating yourself! *thumbs up*), not fashion. This makes about as much sense as cargo pockets on a pair of bicycle shorts... |

Re-Jected! I feel the burn, and am saddened.
Speaking of GMU, by the way. Looks like I'll be applying to GMU again for the summer session, if at all possible. And by that point I'll have an Associates Degree, which will probably pave the way a bit, and the fact that I won't apply the absolute last day (and then not have my transcript show up for a month). *sigh* |

| | The Seatbelts - Green Bird | ] | Fixed my computer's odd reluctance to go to some websites an hour ago: found a file named 'HOSTS' in the Windows directory, and emptied it. Simple and easy, and about five years too late. >_<
Ah, Fanfiction.net, Amazon.com, geocities.com, I've missed you. I've even missed ads.doubleclick.com, for every site in the known universe seems to need it to load in a timely fashion, and my computer's had to wait for that to time out (every single time!) for years. Ahh, I finally feel at peace. Is this what the Zen masters feel like?
Oh wait, that might just be the food I had at Anita's tonight visiting it's revenge upon me. |

Spent a large portion of this afternoon being shown around the GMU campus by Hroly, and it was good. He gave me many pointers for classes to take, but I've forgotten most of them.
Oh, I guess I haven't written this down yet: No, NOVA hasn't sent out a transcript yet... >_< I re-requested it, and then sent an email to the IT help desk people explaining what happened in the hopes that they'll fix it before somebody else is inconvenienced.
Just a hundred pages left in "The Confusion", then I'm on to "The System of the World", and then I can sleep again. "Quicksilver" was really the hardest in the series to get through (supposedly), perhaps as some sort of test to see who the truely dedicated Neal Stephenson fans were. Jack Shaftoe is the best character ever!
On another reading front: I found a (completely legal) online copy of the seventh Honor Harrington book, and after I'm done with that I can finally finish the dead tree versions of the later books. Then buy the most recent book, and read it. Then re-read American Gods and Cryptonomicon. And then have my eyes burst into flame from friction. ....I wonder why I've been throwing myself into reading lately? hehe |

O.O That's a fuckload, in technical terms. The new Wheel of Time book, all of those David Weber ones, and my recent Neal Stephenson kick... |

| | OK Go - Don't Ask Me | ] | Anybody interested in going to the Six Flags Fright Fest thingy? I've been thinking about it for a while, but things got in the way to bringing it up... So, Matt? Brian, who doesn't read this? ...Christina? It's sad to say that those are the three people I know well enough to ask. Oh, how about we turn the Friday this week into a night of fun and terror at a nationally known theme park? How's about it Matt?
Tickets are $32.99 plus tax if that streamlines the decision making process for anyone...
I'll ask him through AIM later on, in the assumption that he might not read this often. |
